F.A.Q

Why wasn’t my reason published? Probably because it had already been said, you could have had something in your request that was controversial or you submitted over five reasons in one day.

How long does it take for you to make one of the pictures? 5 - 10 minutes, if you count searching for the right image to use.

Where do you get your screencaps?  I take some of them myself, but most of the Series 1 - 4 caps come from disparue and a few others from Series 4 come from ladymanson

How long does it normally take for something to get posted after it gets requested?  Depends, but a week at the maximum, unless the blog is on hiatus. If it’s longer it probably got lost or forgotten about. A lot of requests don’t make it because a lot of them get repeated and the last thing we want is just pages full of the same things over and over again. But if you REALLY want it posted, tell us you really want it posted despite the fact it’s already been done, we will.

Why was the text on my submission different?  Either because it was too long, or not grammatically correct. Sometimes it is because someone submitted the same thing as you at the same time, then we would mash what the two of you said up into one sentence.

What font do you use for the text on your submissions? Bodoni MT Heavy Italic. (also known as Bodoni MT Black with italic and bold settings on)

Have you ever considered letting somebody else help you run the blog?  Yes, I have. However I’m a little bit insecure in the sense that I couldn’t bring myself to let anyone else run it because this blog is my baby. When the going gets tough (schoolwork, music… etc.) People don’t seem to get overly angry or upset if I have to have to go on a hiatus, because everybody (well I hope everybody!) who follows this blog is really understanding and lovely about it.

What’s your personal blog? My personal tumblr is here.

What is your favourite episode of Merlin? “The Eye of the Phoenix” (3.08) I get so many good shivers down my spine watching this episode. It was like falling into a dream. The beauty and simplicity in it was incredible, there was some beautiful soundtrack and cinematography, the storyline was very powerful and moving, and the whole “courage, strength, magic” plot was wonderfully crafted. My second favourite episode would be “Aithusa” (4.04), because of that same simplistic, beautiful style.

Who is your favourite character and why?  Not exactly the most original choice by my favourite character is Merlin. He’s a little bit socially awkward, great at making the lamest jokes in history and you’ve got to admit, he’s beautiful to look at. There is much more to him than that though. He is the perfect example of an unlikely hero. It is hard to think that this young boy (man now!) has come so far, endured so much suffering, and still manages to keep that head on his shoulders. The destiny placed in his hands, is more than we will ever know. It is true. He does have absolute power. He is invincible. Yet, he is someone who we should all look up to, for despite all this power, he does turn to the darker ways, unlike other characters who have magical qualities. He is stronger than all of them. His undying loyalty to Arthur, despite all the crap Arthur gives him at times is incredible. The amount of times he saves Arthur and other people’s lives makes him a guardian angel like character. He is so kind and helpful in spirit, with such a great capacity to love. To most people he may seem like a bumbling servant, but in all other ways he is more than we will ever know. He is the young man with a destiny of a great kingdom on his shoulders. The day Arthur, and the rest of the world come to know, love and accept his true self, will be a great day indeed. Like the famous wizard Harry Potter, I will stick with famous wizard Merlin, until the very end.

So why do you love Merlin?  I watched Merlin from Day One it was released in New Zealand, (two months after Series 1 came out in the UK) and since then I’ve been catching every episode first thing when it comes out each week in the UK since Series 2. I love Merlin because it is a fresh take on the Arthurian legend. It is a prime example of a family show that has actually done something right! I absolutely adore the costumes, the sets, the soundtrack, the cinematography, the acting, the storylines, the magic, the swordfighting, the characters… I could list everything on this blog that has been submitted. It has become more than a show for me, it’s become a lifestyle. Not many can say that a TV show can shape one’s way of thinking and growing up, but it has done just that. Merlin has helped me get through all the tough times over the past four years. Merlin has turned me into a wonderful person and I have Merlin, Arthur, Gwen, Morgana and all the characters to thank for that.
